No, we are not going shopping at Patagonia; but there is a reason why the adventure retailer named themselves after the region known as Patagonia! This destination is an adventurers playground. Trek and kayak through Patagonia’s spectacular Torres del Paine National Park. The Park is full of enduring beauty from the vibrant glacier lakes and icebergs, to the craggy pink granite mountains. Patagonia has an abundance of unique wildlife, including condors, nandues, penguins and guanacos. If you want a remote adventure… this is it.

Upon arrival at Punta Arenas Airport we will take a 3 hour private transfer with our guide to Puerto Natales, the gateway to Parque Nacional Torres del Paine.

Day 2 Puerto Natales / Torres del Paine (kayak)B / L / D

In the morning we take a zodiac to Estancia Balmaceda and spend the day kayaking in the Eberhard fjord, visiting Estancia Consuelo & Villa Luisa, the chosen place by Captain Eberhard to live with his family at the end of the 19th Century. After 6 hours paddling in the magical fjord we enjoy camping in this remote wilderness area.

Day 3 Torres del Paine (kayak)B / L / -

We start the day early, portaging the kayaks a short distance to enter the lagoon of the Serrano glacier. A surreal experience of paddling around ice-bergs, before entering a small pass to enjoy the morning light in front of the Serrano glacier. On exiting the lagoon, we will board the zodiac to return to Puerto Natales. Along the way we’ll stop-off at the tourist complex "Estancia Perales" where we will be served a BBQ "Patagonian style”-yum!

Day 4 Torres del Paine (trek)B / L / D

Trek to Los Cuernos. After breakfast we will depart to Torres del Paine National Park. We will have many opportunities during the morning to stop at different lookouts to view this magical environment. After lunch we will have 2 1/2 hours trekking on the Los Cuernos path before getting the boat to Pehoe to the Refugio Paine Grande for our night.

Day 5 Torres del Paine (trek)B / BL / D

We begin the trek around Lake Skottsberf, crossing the French River and the French Valley. This valley, the most beautiful in the park and one of the most unique in the world, is surrounded by hanging glaciers and an amphitheater of granite walls and spires. After lunch, we will trek to the extraordinary turquoise Lake Nordenskjold, where Refugio Cuernos is located. Total trekking today will be approximately 10 hours.

Day 6 Torres del Paine (trek)B / BL / D

After breakfast, we will continue on the Los Cuernos trail around Lake Nordenskjold and below the hanging glaciers of Mount Almirante Nieto. Then we will enter the “Paso de los Vientos” were we could experience some real Patagonian winds. We continue into the Ascencio Valley up to the Refugio Chileno where we will spend the night. Total trekking today will be 8 - 9 hours.

Day 7 Lodge Cerro GuidoB / BL / D

Treking from Ascencio Valley down to Refugio Las Torres, we will have our box lunch and transfer to Lodge Cerro Guido, the biggest sheep ranch in Chilean Patagonian with almost 90,000 head of sheep. We have the unique experience of staying at the ranch overnight.

Day 8 Punta Arenas (Chile)B / -- / --

After breakfast, are you ready to try to be like a Patagonian Cowboy? Try horseback riding around the Estancia Cerro Guido with real Gauchos! On our return trip to Punta Arenas, we will stop at the village of Cerro Castillo for lunch, and then to observe the Magellan Penguin colony.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport near Punta Arenas for your flight home/Santiago.

Day 10 Santiago & surrounds

We begin the tour through the city’s colonial sector, where the O’Higgins Park and the Racetrack stand out, through Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins Avenue we will get up to the Presidential Palace of La Moneda, nearby is the Palace of Justice, the Main Square (Plaza de Armas), the old Post Office Building, and alongside the Mapocho River is the Cultural Center Estacion Mapocho and the Palace Museum of Fine Arts adjacent to Forest Park. We will leave downtown after visiting Cerro Santa Lucia, the founding site of Santiago and the picturesque neighborhoods of Paris and Londres, to access the modern business centers in the neighborhoods of Providencia and El Bosque and the elegant residential and commercial neighborhoods of Vitacura and Las Condes.

Day 11 Valparaiso & Viña del Mar/ Santiago

In the morning we will initiate our visit to the City of Valparaiso, a picturesque locality which has been declared a Cultural Patrimony of Mankind by UNESCO; this city is located 120 km away from Santiago and facing the Pacific Ocean. During the trip we will be able to appreciate the impacting view of the wine-producing Valleys of Curacaví and Casablanca. The tour around the City of Valparaiso begins at the Prat Pier, where we can watch the ceaseless activity in the port, standing at the side of the steep mountains through which streets and funiculars climb. The tour continues visiting the city’s most important plazas, the Senate Building and lastly a stop at the vantage point Mirador 21 de Mayo allowing a view of the city and the Bay of Valparaiso. We will then visit the neighboring City of Viña del Mar, known as the “Garden City”; on our tour through this traditional beach resort we will be able to appreciate the beautiful residential neighborhoods from the early 20th century, the monumental clock of flowers, the Presidential palace and the Quinta Vergara with its beautiful gardens and amphitheater, where the popular Festival de la Cancion de Viña del Mar takes place. Following the coastline we will get up to the modern beach resort of Reñaca and the rather more traditional Con Con. Afternoon return to Santiago.

Cultural: Low Environmental: Experience remote destinations of significant ecological value
Physical: Medium to strenuous. The hiking has some strenuous elements, participation is optional. For hiking you only need to carry a daypack. Luggage is transferred.
Equality: We are traveling with guides who are comfortable touring with LGBT guests. However, Chile is conservative and most citizens are traditional Catholics. Sexuality/gender is stereotyped by dominant male, and demure female behavior, although women are well respected.
Transport: Local flight, van, hiking, sea kayaking
